Our goal is to obtain a sustainable impact on a secure livelihood of people. This sustainable impact is a combination of internal and external factors that influence people. We think that we only can deliver an indirect impact on change.
Sustainable impact means that the livelihood of families remains stable on the long term, even when the relief programme of Trias no longer exists. The relief programmes themselves don’t have to be sustainable and have to end one day. But the effects and the impact on people have to be as sustainable as possible. This has an influence on the work process of the local partners and on the way of analyzing local social and economic processes.
A sustainable improvement of a secure livelihood means that there must be a permanent decrease of poverty (a decrease of people living in poverty) and a decrease of the intensity of poverty.
Trias analyzes sustainability on three levels:
1) Level of the focus group
Trias aims to deliver a sustainable impact on a secure of livelihood of individuals in the focusgroup
2) Level of the partner organization
The attention for sustainability depends of the type of partner organization and its strength
3) Level of the social system
In order to develop the participation of small farmers and entrepreneurs in the local economy in a sustainable way, Trias pays a lot of attention to institutional development
