A developed society typically offers a broad range of lifestyle choices to each individual. In the South such choices are often limited or non-existent, depriving people of opportunities.
That is why Trias chooses to better the economic and social situation of individuals through entrepreneurship: such activities offer the poor the opportunity to partake in processes and take economic and social initiatives that directly benefit their own situation. This is one of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations.
